Talented pitchers, hitters on Dream Team

There is no shortage of talent on the Daily Leader’s 2013 All-Area Baseball Team. From pitching to hitting, the statistics are impressive.
North Pike senior pitchers Jacob Fleming and Brady Badon were instrumental in leading Coach George Lott’s Jaguars to the Class 4A state playoffs.
Brady Badon, fashioned an 8-1 record and a 1.08 ERA. He amassed 67 strikeouts and 21 bases on balls. At the plate, Badon batted .315.
Jacob Fleming posted a 5-1 record and a 1.54 ERA. He had 50 strikeouts and 15 walks.
Reed Taylor , a North Pike junior, caught Fleming and Badon. Taylor batted .433, hit 3 homers and notched 21 RBIs.
Cade Turner, a senior, batted .250 for Coach Cory Keyes and the Lawrence County Cougars.
Ben Coney, a freshman, batted .402 for North Pike.
Jacob Ashley, a senior, batted .358 for Coach Stephen Cooksey’s Copiah Academy Colonels.
Tanner Whittington, a McComb Parklane junior, batted .360 and collected 28 RBIs for Coach Robert Young’s Pioneers.
Adrian Brown, a senior, batted .444, hit 5 homers and drove in 22 runs for Coach Ronald Hines and his McComb Tigers.
Kewaun May, a junior, batted .344 for Lawrence County.
Jordan Linton, a junior, batted .317 for the North Pike.
Kody Smith, a senior, batted .347 for Lawrence County.
Alex Smith, a senior, batted .338 for Coach Seth Lofton’s Wesson Cobras.
Jarvis Warner, a junior, batted .528 for the Hazlehurst Indians. He stole 30 bases and drove in 26 runs for Coach Trey Lindsey.
Graham Coward, a sophomore, batted .444 for Coach Brent Calcote’s Franklin County Bulldogs.
T-Tez Cole, a freshman, batted .319 for Lawrence County.
Matt Patterson, a senior, batted .367 for Lawrence County. He drove in 20 runs.
Hoby Mullins, a junior, batted .419 for Franklin County.
James Michael Schmidt, a senior, batted .320 for Parklane.
