One person is dead and another in jail following an early Sunday morning stabbing at a Lincoln County residence, authorities said.
Datavion Smith, 17, of Bogue Chitto, died as result of a stabbing early Sunday morning after what appears to be a domestic dispute, said Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing.
Rushing said details remain unclear, but Smith and Ebony Clark, 21, got into an argument, which then led to an altercation at a residence on Kyliebrook Lane. The sheriff’s department received the call at 1:30 a.m.
“As a result of their dispute, she allegedly stabbed him,” Rushing said.
Smith was transported to King’s Daughters Medical Center in a personal vehicle. Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris said Smith died while at the emergency room and was pronounced dead at 3:32 a.m.
Rushing said Clark, of 484 Imperial Lane, Bogue Chitto, is currently in custody and is charged with murder. Clark’s bail is set at $250,000.
Rushing said it appears that no one else was involved in the altercation. The incident is still under investigation.
