Dealos W. Moak, 96, passed away Jan. 3, 2011, at SouthwestMississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb. Visitation isWednesday, Jan. 5, from 5 until 9 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until thetime of services at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, at CatchingsFuneral Home in McComb, with burial in the Johnston StationCemetery in Pike County. Dr. David Millican and the Rev. DamonWilliamson will officiate. Catchings Funeral Home in McComb ishandling the arrangements.
Dealos W. Moak was born Nov. 12, 1914, in Lincoln County to CareyHesper Moak and Zena Lawrence Moak. He was retired from Burt’sPlumbing Company and Kellwood Company. He was a member of the FirstBaptist Church of Summit, and a member of the DaylilyAssociation.
Survivors include his sons, Lafayette Moak and wife, Mary NellTarter Moak of Chicago, Ill., the Rev. Larry Flynn Moak and wife,Linda Carruth Moak of Hammond, La., and the Rev. Weldon Brock Moakof Broussard, La.; his daughters, Farita Moak West and husband,J.B. of Eight Mile, Ala., and Cheryl Ann Moak Wallace and husband,Hulon of Summit; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren;one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and onebrother-in-law, Rex Cowart and wife, Nell.
Mr. Moak was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, MildredBennie Cowart Moak; his infant daughter, Sherry Lynn Moak; and hisbrothers, Virgil Moak, Lawrence Moak, J.R. Moak and WinefredMoak.
