Services for J.W. Magee, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Monday, Sept.21, at Damascus M.B. Church with burial in Rosehill Cemetery.Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Sunday from 1 until 4 p.m. at R.E. Tyler FuneralHome.
Mr. Magee, 86, died Sept. 15, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on May 7, 1923, to Lee and Mary MageeFields.
He was a retired truck driver for Earl Springs Moving Van Linesand Mayflower Moving Van Lines. He was a former member of DamascusM.B. Church and a current member of Holy Trinity M.B. Church. Hewas a United States Army veteran of World War II.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, W.D.Magee, Leroy Magee, Willie Magee, and John “Big John” Magee; andhis sisters, Jessie Magee Rucks and Mary Magee Robinson.
Survivors are his wife, Minister Carrie Lee Calcote Magee; hissister, Minnie Stewart, of Lansing, Mich.; his brothers, VersieMagee, of Brookhaven, and Joe Magee, of Lansing; and sixgodchildren.
