Cause of death still unknown

Investigators have yet to determine the cause of death for a16-year-old Brookhaven girl who was found dead at a motel lastmonth.
Lincoln County Coroner-Medical Examiner Morris Henderson saidtoday that blood tests conducted by the Mississippi Crime Labfailed to learn what killed Victoria Stapleton.
Stapleton, of 506 East Minnesota St., was found dead in a roomat the Super 8 Motel near Interstate 55 on June 26. She hadresponded about two hours earlier when a maid came to clean theroom, authorities said.
An autopsy conducted earlier also failed to determine whatkilled the girl.
There were no signs of struggle in the room and it was notdisturbed, Lincoln County Sheriff Lynn Boyte said earlier in theinvestigation. The girl’s jewelry was not missing.
Henderson noted that the investigation is ongoing.
“We’ll keep looking, and hopefully we’ll find what killed thisyoung lady,” Henderson said.
