Wendy’s restaurant plans relocation

A Brookway Boulevard restaurant representative has confirmedplans to relocate the business to a new location on the busy citystreet.
Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers, currently located at 138Brookway Blvd., will move a few doors west to Brookhaven Village,which is currently being developed by SAMCO Five Development, saidWendy’s District Manager Ritchie Karl.
Karl confirmed the business would break ground at the newshopping center in March. Wendy’s will cease operations in itscurrent location once the new restaurant is completed.
“We’re shooting for a mid-May to July 1 opening,” said Karl,although adding there are a number of variables in thattimetable.
Karl said plans for the current building are unknown onceoperations cease there.
Karl said an outdated building and design at the restaurant’scurrent site as a reason for relocation. He said, at the least, thenumber of employees will remain the same at the new location, butcould increase.
The Brookhaven Wendy’s is owned by the Carlisle Corp.
