Services for Lou Annie Peavey, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Aug. 27 at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inEasthaven Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Peavey, 92, died Aug. 24, 2005, at Beverly Health Care. Shewas born in Sicily Island, La., on Jan. 21, 1913, to Thomas WebbTarver and Julie Etta Posey Tarver.
She worked for many years at Stahl Urban Co. She also worked asa nurse’s aide at King’s Daughters Hospital and Silver CrossNursing Home. She was a member of the Brookhaven Chapter of theOrder of the Easter Star. She was a member of Brookway Church ofChrist.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 61years, Freemon E. Peavey; her brothers, Claude, Joel Lee and HermanTarver; and her sisters, Amelia Tarver, Lela Jackson, La NellWatson, Clara Belle McFarland and Dorothy Cupit.
Survivors are her daughter, Peggie Jean and her husband, L.B.Griffin, of DeRidder, La.; her sons, Daniel “Danny” Webb Peavey andhis wife, Joy, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Billy Peavey and hiswife, Virginia, and James David Peavey and his wife Judy, all ofBrookhaven; her sister, Beatrice Stutson, of Sicily Island; twosisters-in-law, La Nelle Webley, of Shingle Springs, Calif., andBernice Smith, of Brookhaven; 12 grandchildren; 24great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host ofnieces and nephews.
