Services for Pauline D. Rushing, of Summit, are 10 a.m. Friday,March 5, at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb, with burial inWoodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Mrs. Rushing, 89, died March 2, 2010, at her residence. She wasborn in Johnston Station on May 27, 1920, to Charles and ViolaDickerson Davis.
She was a graduate of Southwest Mississippi Junior College,where she played basketball and was a retired administrativeassistant for former New Orleans Councilman, Phillip Ciaccio. Shewas a member of the Order of Eastern Star Germania Chapter 190 inNew Orleans. She was past Grand Worthy Matron for the State ofLouisiana, where she was a member of the Louisiana organization ofOES. She was past president of the Mother’s Club at CrossmanElementary in New Orleans, and was a former Sunday school teacherand member of W.M.U. She was a member of New Heights BaptistChurch.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ellis P.Rushing; her son, Raymond Ellis Rushing; and numerous brothers andsisters.
Survivors are her son, Mike Rushing, of St. Petersburg, Russia;her daughters, Bonnie Simoneaux of Cleveland, Ga., and Jane Jones,of Summit; two nieces; numerous grandchildren andgreat-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
