Services for K. C. Byrd of Houston, Texas, are 11 a.m.,Saturday, Feb. 9, at New Fork U. M. Church in Meadville with burialin Meadville Cemetery.

Family hour is Friday from 7-8 p.m. at Tyler Funeral Home.

Mr. Byrd, 78, died Feb. 1, 2002, at West Houston Medical Centerin Houston. He was born in Meadville on Dec. 10, 1923, to HenryByrd and Lula Brown Byrd.

He was a former janitor in Detroit, Mich.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Steven White;and his wife, Fannie Roberts Byrd.

Survivors are his son, Kevin Hearns of Detroit, Mich.; hisdaughter, Kim Hearns of Detroit, Mich.; his brother, Joe Hines ofAkron, Ohio; and his sisters, Margaret Burks of Meadville andEarnestine Anderson of Laurel.
