Iris C. Richmond

Services for Iris C. Richmond of Brookhaven are 2:30 p.m.,Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inClear Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday, Dec. 11, from 5-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mrs. Richmond, 86, died Dec. 9, 2000, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Walthall County on Nov. 6, 1914, toPope Conerly and Sally Brumfield Conerly.

She was a homemaker and former nurses’ aide at Silver CrossNursing Home. She was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and three sisters.

Survivors are her husband, John D. Richmond of Brookhaven; hersons, John Richmond of Memphis and James Richmond of Prentiss; herdaughter, Sylvia Smith of Brookhaven; her sisters, Louise Bridgesof Salem and Dell Moffitt of Fayette; and nine grandchildren, fourstepgrandchildren, one great-grandchild, and 10stepgreat-grandchildren.

John B. Seavey

Services for John B. Seavey of Brookhaven were 11 a.m., Monday,Dec. 11, at Faith Presbyterian Church with burial in Rose HillCemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Seavey, 95, died Dec. 9, 2000, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Brookhaven on May 4, 1905, to John EbenSeavey and May Bishop Seavey.

He was a retired, self-employed architect. He designed severalbuildings in Brookhaven, including the Lincoln County Library andthe chapel and educational buildings at both the First PresbyterianChurch and First Methodist Church. He also designed several homesand other buildings in the Brookhaven area.

Mr. Seavey was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. He was aNavy veteran of WWII. He was a former member of the BrookhavenKiwanis Club.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, FrancesBowen Seavey.

Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Frances Seavey Showsand Thad Shows of Columbia; his sister, May Seavey Bowen ofClermont, Fla.; his grandchildren, Marjorie Shows Young ofBirmingham, Ala., and Thad Shows Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn.; and threenephews.
