A Brookhaven woman’s luck changed recently when she became thesixth winner in the DAILY LEADER’S Hometown Christmaspromotion.

“I never win anything. I always enter, but I never think that Iwill win. When I did win this time, I was really shocked,” saidBetty Jo Smith, who won $200 in Hometown Bucks after registering atTrustmark National Bank last Friday.

Smith has already made plans on how she will spend her HometownBucks, which can be used at any of the participating merchants.

“It will be nice for some Christmas shopping,” she said,mentioning friends and family she would like to buy gifts forduring the holidays.

Smith and her husband, Ricky, are the proud parents of twodaughters, Kellie and Amy. They also have two grandchildren, Walkerand Powell.

She may spend her Hometown Bucks at any of the participatingbusinesses:

* Brookhaven Music and Sound

* Brookwood Gifts and Antiques

* Lofton’s Sporting Goods

* Millane’s

* Rushing Boots and Shoe Shop

* Shipp’s Florist

* T.H. Perkins Furniture Company

* Trustmark National Bank

* Walls Lumber and Supply Company

The 10th Annual Hometown Christmas is an effort of the DAILYLEADER and area merchants to encourage shoppers to buy locally inorder to benefit the community.

Shoppers may register at any of the participating merchants byusing the special entry forms and boxes on display. Shoppers mayenter as many times as they would like.

There will only be one more drawing this Friday for $200 inHometown Bucks, but a grand prize drawing for $600 in HometownBucks will be held Friday, Dec. 15.

Employees of the DAILY LEADER are not eligible to win. Employeesof participating merchants may not register at their respectivebusiness, but they may register at any of the other participatingbusinesses.
