CLINTON – Five area athletes have been named to the MississippiAssociation of Coaches All-State Tennis Team. Criteria forselection was based on the individual’s performance in the MHSAAState Tennis Tournament and their coach’s membership in theMAC.

In Class 5A, Brookhaven is represented by Amanda Moak and EmilyLowery in No. 1 girls doubles and Meredith Jacobs and Allison Boydin No. 2 girls doubles. Both pairs were runners-up to Oxford in thestate tourney.

In Class 2A, Loyd Star is represented by Courtney Watts in girlssingles. She was state runner-up to Cassidy Turnage of Madison St.Joe.

As a team, Brookhaven was South State runner-up to West Jones. LoydStar’s team was South State runner-up to Wesson.
