Services for Charles Lamar “Pud” Calhoun, of Jayess, are 2 p.m.Friday, March 9, at Divide Methodist Protestant Church inMonticello with burial in the church cemetery. Wilson Funeral Homein Monticello is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Calhoun, 76, died March 7, 2007, at his residence. He wasborn on March 8, 1930, to Burmah N. Calhoun and Lexie BoydCalhoun.
He was a retired oilfield driller with Marshall R. YoungDrilling Co. He was a member of Divide Methodist Protestant Church.He was the former owner of Jayess Softball Field for several years.He loved gardening and growing watermelons for his grandchildren.He loved his dogs and hunting.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his sister, DonnisGivens and her husband Williard Givens.
Survivors are his wife, Jalove Calhoun, of Jayess; his son,Randy Calhoun and wife Kathy, of Jayess; his daughter, Rhonda JoMorrow and husband Devon, of Jayess; his grandchildren, DonnieHarvey, Lajo Smith, Kacie Smith, Shantel Prestridge; and hisgreat-grandchildren, Cole Harvey, Halle Harvey and CarterSmith.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s ResearchHospital.
