Services for Truly A. Smith Jr. of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.,Thursday, April 12, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burialin Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Smith, 56, died April 9, 2001, at Silver Cross Nursing Home.He was born in Baton Rouge on May 10, 1944, to Truly A. Smith Sr.and Ruby Gividen Smith.

He was retired from Smith Brothers Sawmill. He was a member ofFriendship Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his mother; his wife, Bonita FaySmith; his daughter, Tiffany Thompson; and his sister, SylviaSmith.

Survivors are his father, Truly A. Smith Sr. of Brookhaven; hisstepson, Tony Forrest of Brookhaven; his brother, Clyde E. Smith ofBrookhaven; his sisters, Patricia Prather of North Carolina, DianePepper of Lake City, Fla., and Katherine Thompson of Brookhaven;and two grandchildren.
