Bogue Chitto girls remain unbeaten

BOGUE CHITTO — The unbeaten Bogue Chitto Lady “Cats outhit theNorth Pike Lady Jaguars 16-4 on their way to a 9-2 win Thursdaynight in varsity slowpitch softball action. Bogue Chitto improvedto 4-0 and North Pike fell to 1-3.
Bogue Chitto hosts Enterprise Monday. North Pike is at SouthPike Thursday.
“It was a big win for us,” said Bogue Chitto head coach ScottLeggett. “North Pike gives us a challenge everytime. They are agood team. We are hustling real good.”
Morgan Roberts posted the win, striking out 1 batter and walker3. Hali Sasser took the loss with 2 strikeouts and 1 walk.
“I was disappointed in my team effort, ” said North Pike coachSonya Wallace. “Bogue Chitto came out to play and we didn’t.”
Bogue Chitto led 5-0 after three innings. A home run by MaggieDunaway cut the Lady ‘Cat’s lead to 5-1 in the top of the fourth.North Pike scored a run in the top of the fifth to trim BogueChitto’s lead to 5-2.
The Lady ‘Cats added 4 runs in the bottom of the sixth to securethe win. Bogue Chitto committed 4 errors and North Pike had 2.
Kelli Howard powered Bogue Chitto with a double and 3 singles.Amanda Owen singled 3 times. Collecting 2 single each were DarcyMiller and Bradi Davis. Hitting safely were Shaquille Burton,Caitlin Owen, Jessi Miller, Josie Porter and Mikki Mitchell.
North Pike got a single from Kelsey Lord, Marissa Jenkins andSasser.
Junior varsity action
The North Pike girls nipped Bogue Chitto 3-2 in JV play.
Shelby Adul-Hadi was the winning pitcher with 1 strikeout and 1walk. Blaine Myers absorbed the loss, fanning 2 batters and walking1.
Singling for North Pike were Dakota Parks, Summer Brown, RachelKelly, Whitney Ketchum, Savannah Welch, Lee Anna Hill, MeghanGettis and Abdul-Hadi.
Bogue Chitto got a double from Amanda Owen. Chris May singledtwice. Shelby Crosby, Rheagan Welch, Toy Smith and Laken Crosbysingled.
