Services for Sandra Michelle Bessonette, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Carter Creek Cemetery in Pike County.

Visitation is today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Miss Bessonette, 22, died Aug. 29, 2005, at her residence. Shewas born on June 4, 1983.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. JamesBuffington and her stepgrandfather, Robert Rippy.

Survivors are her mother, Sandra Vanlandingham, of Brookhaven;her stepfather, Hugh Vanlandingham, of Brookhaven; her grandmother,Jessie Boyd, of Brookhaven; her sisters, Casni Bessonette, ofBrookhaven, Harrli Boyte, of Brookhaven and her stepsisters, KeariViohl, of Pensacola, Fla., and Lachelle Tibbs, of Brookhaven; herbrothers, McKinzie Bessonette, of Pensacola, BoJack Vanlandingham,of Noxapater, her stepbrothers, Michael Bessonette, MitchellBessonette and Cotton Bridges, all of Brookhaven; and several auntsand uncles.

Sarah Acosta Camancho

Private graveside services for Sarah Acosta Camancho, of McComb,are 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at Hillcrest Cemetery. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Camancho, 96, died Aug. 31, 2005, at McComb Nursing andRehabilitation Center. She was born on Jan. 1, 1909, to Luis AcostaSr. and Nica Nora Acosta.

She was retired. She was a member of the Jehovah’s WitnessesKingdom Hall in McComb.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her daughter, Ida Almelda, of Summit; threegranddaughters, Doreen Washington and her husband, Hugh, of Summit,Debra Endecott and her husband, James, of El Reno, Okla., and DonnaAlmelda, of Summit; and two great-grandchildren.

Billy Jack Cassedy

Services for Billy Jack Cassedy, of Irvine, Calif., are 2:30p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4 at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial inRosehill Cemetery.

Mr. Cassedy, 60, died Aug. 27, 2005, at Irvine Regional Hospitalin California. He was born at Keesler Hospital in Biloxi on Feb.19, 1945.

He lived in Brookhaven until 1955 when the family moved toVirginia. He graduated from Annandale High School, Annandale, Va.,and from George Mason University. He owned a company specializingin computer technology and scanning for a number of years untilfailing health forced an early retirement.

Survivors are his wife, Winnie Wen; a daughter, Kaileen Cassedy;a son, Colin Cassedy, all of Irvine; a son, Michael Gray, ofParsipanny, N.J., and sisters and brothers-in-law, Beth and DavidFish, of Houston, Texas, and Patsy and Alan Futvoye, ofJackson.

Jacob Aaron Dunn

Services for Jacob Aaron Dunn, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Sept. 3 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Dunn, 16, died Aug. 27, 2005, from injuries sustained in acar accident on New Sight Road in Lincoln County. He was born inBrookhaven on Aug. 18, 1989, to David G. Dunn and Sondra McTaggartDunn.

When dates are written of one’s life a dash is placed betweenthe years of birth and death. That dash represents all their timespent on earth. For Jacob, the dash may be short, but his time withus was lived to the fullest. His life was one filled with love,both given and received. He was a source of joy and pride to hisloving parents, sister, grandparents, great-grandmothers, unclesand aunts. To his friends he was someone whose humor and quicksmile could add fun to every situation. His heart was big and hisenthusiasm for life even greater.

Some of the happiest times of Jacob’s life was spent on abaseball diamond. His love of the game was the center of his younglife and his ability to play was a joy to watch. Jacob’s baseballcareer began with T-ball at a young age. For the next few years, hespent his summer playing the Dixie Youth program, until he had theprivilege at age 10 to start playing for the Brookhaven Blazers, aselect travel team.

Jacob and his family created many wonderful memories travelingto cities throughout the United States pursuing his love of thegame. As a ninth grader, he became a starter for the BrookhavenHigh School baseball team.

Jacob’s love for baseball was surpassed only by his love for theLord and his church, Central Baptist. There he touched the lives ofthe congregation through a variety of activities. Jacob helped withvacation Bible school, belonged to the Synergy Youth group, sangwith the youth choir and participated in local mission projects toassist the elderly. Serving and praising God was important toJacob.

For sixteen short years, God gave us another precious gift.Those of us who knew him and loved him will forever carry with usthe memory of a young man playing his heart out on a baseballfield, sharing his heart with those he loved, and most importantly,giving his heart to God. Jacob was a student at Brookhaven HighSchool. He loved to hunt and fish.

Preceding him in death were his paternal and maternal great-grandparents.

Survivors are his parents; one sister, Bridget Dunn, ofBrookhaven; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Dunn, ofBrookhaven, and Mr. and Mrs. John McTaggert; great-grandmother,Audrey Alexander; his uncles, Les Dunn and his wife, Kathy, ofBrookhaven, Matt Dunn and his wife, Linette; two cousins, SamanthaMahloch and Alayna Dunn.

Juanita S. Moak

Services for Juanita S. Moak, of Bogue Chitto, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Sept. 3 at Arlington Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto withburial in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Moak, 88, died Aug. 30, 2005, at McComb Nursing andRehabilitation. She was born on Jan. 17, 1917, to Willard Sasserand Ida McFadden Sasser.

She was retired from Stahl Urban Company and ran Moak’s Groceryat Arlington for 24 years. She was a member of Arlington BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, RussellSasser and Harold Sasser, both of Bogue Chitto; her sisters, HazelBritt, of Bogue Chitto, and Pearl Porter, of Smithdale; hergrandchildren, Nancy Pickett and Clifford Moak; and agreat-grandchild, William Pickett.

Survivors are her husband of 68 years, Robert E. Moak, of BogueChitto; her sons, Wayne Moak and his wife, Georgia, of BogueChitto, and Delton Moak and his wife, Patricia, of McCall Creek;her daughter, Lanell Pickett and her husband, Tom, of McCall Creek;11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and twogreat-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Morgan, 89, died Aug. 30, 2005, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on Jan. 27, 1916, to William Perry King andJosiephene Blackwell King.

She was a retired seamstress for Stahl Urban Company. She was amember of Easthaven Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband,Charlie L. Morgan.

Mr. Shelby, 69, died Aug. 30, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on Feb. 8, 1936, to Charlie Shelby Sr. andBeatrice Ellis Shelby.

He was a retired former supervisor at Delphi Packard. He workedat Jackson Plating Co. a number of years and was self employed withShelby Brass Works. He was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church wherehe was president of the male chorus, superintendent of the Sundayschool, a deacon and a member of the mass choir.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
