Services for Stella Mae Washington, of Natchez, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Nov. 12 at St. Matthews Baptist Church, in Garden City onHighway 33, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. at Marshall FuneralHome Chapel in Bude and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at thechurch.

Mrs. Washington, 98, died Nov. 4, 2005, at Adams County NursingHome. She was born in Knoxville, Miss., on Jan. 28, 1907, to Archieand Henretta Malone Burkley.

She was on the Mother Board of St. Mark Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands, WillWalter and Robert Washington; two sons, James and Frank Walters;three sisters, Almedia Alexander, Sadie Mae Sanders and Ida MaeByrd.

Survivors are her five grandchildren, Maxine Seals, of Natchez,Rosalind Suzette King, Patricia Williams, Frank L. Walter andSteven Walter, all of New Orleans; one daughter-in-law; fournieces; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives andfriends.
