Services for Vera Case Jones of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Saturday,Dec. 8, at the Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRosehill Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 p.m.until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jones, 85, died December 6, 2001, of pneumonia at theBaptist Medical Center. She was born in Bude on August 25, 1916, toFrank G. Case and Ophelia Toney Case.
She was raised in McComb but lived in Brookhaven for over 50years. She was co-owner of radio station “WCHJ” with her husband,Bill Jones. She was secretary of the Ruth Sunday School Class, wasactive in Women in Missions and a member of Joy Choir. She was avolunteer for the Beverly Health Care Nursing Home. She was amember of First Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her husband, W.M. “Bill” Jones, andher parents.
Survivors are her son, W.M. Jones Jr. of Metairie, La.;daughters, Sue Jones Elkins of Ellisville, Diane Jones Richardsonof Brandon and Martha Jones Spiess (and husband, Edgar) ofPrairieville, La.; brother, Charles Case of Natchez; sister, MarthaEvans of McComb; seven grandchildren and threegreat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Aaron Spiess, Robert Krizman, Charlie Elkins,Frank Richardson, Kyle Worthey, Josh Elkins, Jerry Patton, SkoshElkins and Willie Jones. Honorary pallbearer is Jay Bishop.
