Funeral services for Richard Howell East, 58, of Brookhaven will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer with a private graveside burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. East died Sept. 27, 2013. He was born on Jan. 22, 1955.

He was a graduate of Brookhaven High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death was his father, William Howell East.

Survivors are his mother, Helyn Bentz East; brothers, James Thomas East, of Sugar Land, Texas; sister, Martha East Morgan, and husband, Paul, of Brookhaven; nephew, Andrew Paul Alvin Morgan; and a loving canine companion, Toby.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brookhaven Animal Rescue League.
