The Fifth annual Norwood Cup competition is set for this weekend at the Wolf Hollow Golf Club in Wesson and the Brookhaven Country Club. The two-day event matches the top 20 golfers from each club.
The Norwood Cup is named in honor of Brookhavenite Ed Norwood who has donated thousands of volunteer hours at each club, promoting the game of golf.
Cup captains are Ryan Case of Wolf Hollow and Keith McGowen of the BCC.
“This tournament honors a great friend of ours in Mr. Ed Norwood,” said Wolf Hollow PGA professional Ronny Ross. “He was and is a great ambassador for golf at our two clubs.”
Competition begins Saturday morning at 10 with a nine-hole, alternate shot format. After lunch, a four-ball match play tournament will be held at the Brookhaven Country Club, starting at 1 p.m.
Individual matches are set for Sunday at the Wolf Hollow Golf Club, beginning at 1 p.m.
