Funeral services for Oscar Ray Clanton of McCall Creek are 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with a Masonic graveside service at Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Clanton, 76, died Sept. 8, 2013 in Mississippi. He was born in Mississippi on Feb. 27, 1937 to Lee Roy Clanton and Mamie Ezell.

He worked for Chevron and was a member of Sarepta Baptist Church. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge Ben Franklin No. 11, Robert Posey Bude Lodge No. 566 and William Oliver Chapter No. 176. Mr. Clanton served in the U.S. Army.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Annette Clanton; stepson, Joel Cotten; brothers, Admar D., James Allen, Leroy, Lamar and John Clanton; and sisters, Louise Cupit, Emily Scott, Seleta Kennedy and Anna Bell Strahan.

Survivors are his wife, Judy Clanton; sons, Mickey Ray Clanton and wife, Jennifer, of McCall Creek, Bruce Clanton and wife, Stacy, of Brookhaven, and Brian Clanton and wife, Tanya, of Meadville; stepson, Richard Bynum and wife, Lauren, of Brookhaven; brothers, Billy Clay Clanton and wife, Shirley, of Meadville, and Doug Clanton and wife, Carol, of Brookhaven; and 10 grandchildren, Justes, Coleman, Kade, Chloe, Clanton, Missy Clanton, Jacob Clanton, Jordan Clanton, Makayla, Colby Hall, Ashlyn and Easton Bynum.
