Local barber and motivational speaker Javis “Gibb” Gibson is touching the lives of the community’s youth by way of career development.
Gibson was invited by Sabrina Richardson, Central Mississippi Planning and Development District Career Coach, to speak throughout the Lincoln County School District this year to motivate junior and senior students. Gibson’s mission is to help students tap into their gifts and monetize those gifts with a plan and action.
“I just want these young men and ladies to know they can if they’re willing,” said Gibson. “Always be prepared for obstacles but still trusting you can still do it”.
Gibson says his formula for success is simple.
“It’s the real PPP that pays forever. Tap into your Purpose (your gift). Create a Plan. Follow the Process,” he said. “And for a bonus ‘P’, be Patient.”
“The teachers I was blessed to work with were amazing and they sincerely care about the future of their students,” the businessman said of Enterprise Attendance Center Career Coach Amanda Bayliss, and Lori Harrell and Ashley Lynch of Loyd Star Attendance Center.
During the spring semester, Gibson will speak on career development at Bogue Chitto and West Lincoln schools.
“I am absolutely excited about those engagements already!”
