The annual Brookhaven Christmas Parade rolled through town Thursday evening, bringing Christmas hope and joy to children of all ages after a day of cold and wet weather.
Marlene Cupit, president and owner of Hurst Review Services in Brookhaven, was this year’s Grand Marshal. Cupit earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Mississippi University for Women in 1988, and is certified as an Adult and Family Nurse Practitioner, a Critical Care Nurse, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor.
As a young nurse in 1988, Cupit found her passion for helping nursing students overcome the challenges of school and achieve their dreams of becoming a licensed professional nurse. Starting as the sole instructor of her company’s NCLEX Review, Cupit now has more than 100 employees nationwide and has instructed more than 500,000 nursing students over the past 35 years. Her review course is provided in all 50 states, Canada, and many other countries.
Cupit is a life-long resident of Lincoln County, along with her husband Malcolm and their twin daughters, Sophie and Lilly. Cupit’s hope is to continue to support her community as a key business leader and to consistently advocate for the beauty and betterment of the City of Brookhaven.
