BROOKHAVEN  — The Lincoln County Board of Supervisors met for a regularly scheduled docket meeting Monday morning. District 2 Supervisors Keith Lewis, District 3 Supervisor John David Hart and District 4 Supervisor Eli Ferguson were present for the meeting.

The supervisors voted to approve personnel reports, payroll, accounts payable and meal count sheets as usual. There was little to discuss with Thanksgiving a few days away.

Lincoln County Administrator Daniel Calcote told the board they were receiving a grant from the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality to host another hazardous material waste day. Bob Knight, Litter and Solid Waste Control Coordinator, will help oversee the day and help plan when it will be.

“The grant will be $31,500 to put on the event that we do every other year. We will have to get with Bob for it,” Calcote said. “We talked about having it at the civic center where we would have better flow of traffic. We have a good set up there. We will have to get with the disposal company to figure out which days are best.”

Supervisors voted to execute an agreement with MDEQ for the grant. We will provide more details on the waste day when they become available.
