Tropical Storm Milton forms in Gulf

BROOKHAVEN — A tropical storm has formed in the Gulf of Mexico. It is expected to strengthen to a hurricane.
Tropical Storm Milton strengthened from a tropical depression into a named storm Saturday afternoon. National Hurricane Center in Miami announced the tropical storm at 12:25 pm Saturday.
Milton is forecast to strengthen as it moves towards the east where it will bring life threatening risks to the west coast of Florida. It is unknown if the storm will have any impacts on Mississippi and rain chances in the coming week.
