Forecasts for tropical activity in the gulf look a little more favorable for a tropical cyclone to form. According to the NHC, there is now a 40 percent chance of Tropical Cyclone formation in the next 7 days. Formation chances depend largely on if the area of low pressure expected to form this weekend remains separate from a frontal boundary expected to extend across the Gulf of Mexico next week.
