An 18-wheeler overturned on Interstate 55 around 2 a.m. Friday morning, spilling its load in the southbound lanes at mile marker 36.

Mississippi Highway Patrol and Zetus Volunteer Fire Department responded. The driver of the truck complained of pain and was transported to King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. VFD members helped clear the spilled load of more than 1,200 cases of toilet paper.

The I-55 lanes were completely reopened to traffic around 7 a.m.
