Tropical Depression Gordon moves slowly in the Atlantic

BROOKHAVEN — Nearly a week ago, Hurricane Fiona made landfall in Louisiana and now the seventh named storm of the Atlantic Hurricane Season moves slowly across the Atlantic. At this time, Tropical Depression Gordon does not appear to pose any threat to Mississippi or the United States.

The storm is forecast to track into the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and turn to the east, far away from the coastline of the United States. Of course, the storm could change course over the next few days and we will continue to monitor tropical activity.

According to the National Weather Service, only the report of trees being down was recorded in impacts of Hurricane Francine on Lincoln County.
