ENTERPRISE — Yellow Jacket fans may not have recovered from a close 29-28 win over cross-county rival Loyd Star in the “Sting Bowl,” Friday night. If you missed the game check out what buzz is about in this gallery which captured a hard fought game.
Enterprise’s plans for Labor Day include an 8 a.m. practice as they prepare to face St. Andrew’s next week. Players will have time to enjoy the day and possibly squeeze a dove hunt in when practice ends at 10:30 a.m. Head Coach Trey Woodard told his players after the game they had a heck of a second half.
“That’s how you fight, that’s how you stand up and that’s how you grow up,” Woodard said. “We have a lot of work to do still. We have to work toward being better.”
Loyd Star will play Wesson next week in the KDMC Kickoff Classic. Wesson defeated Bogue Chitto to win their first game of the year. Head Coach Adam Smith reminded his team about the way one possession games went in their favor last year. The one point loss was reversed from last year’s Sting Bowl. Loyd Star will try and learn from the game.
“We can not let one mistake beat us. Don’t let it define the year,” Smith said. “We are going to face adversity. You will grow and be better.”
