MDWFP releases agenda for August meeting

JACKSON — Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks released an agenda for their August commission meeting late Tuesday afternoon. There will be an educational session at 10 a.m.
The meeting is set to take place at the MDWFP headquarters located at 1505 Eastover Drive, Jackson. Craig Beeding will give an update on the Archery in Mississippi Schools in an educational session.
Chairman Scott Coopwood will open up the business session at 11 a.m. with a welcome and recognition of guests. According to the Agenda, Jason Thompson, License Boat Registration Division Director, will give an update on the license sales report.
Col. Jerry Carter, Chief of Law Enforcement, wil give his law enforcement update including a moment to recognize the Law Fit Team. Three men are up for license reinstatements. Samuel Jenkins and Earnest Porche of Claiborne County and Jacob Eaton of Alcorn County will appear before the commission to formally request the reinstatement of licenses.
Usually, license reinstatements are for subjects who committed a Class I violation such as spotlighting deer.
MDWFP will tentatively schedule its next commission meeting for Sept. 18, 2024 with an educational session at 10 a.m. and business session at 11 a.m. According to the agenda, it will be at the MDWFP headquarters again.
