Karen Bonner

Karen Annette (Melton) Bonner, age 65, passed away peacefully at home in Natchez on Saturday, June 22, 2024, after a protracted battle with cancer.
She was born on Nov. 2, 1958 in Deming, New Mexico, where she grew up. She was an avid horse rider in her youth, winning several rodeo awards in goat roping and barrel racing.
She was a veteran of two years with the US Air Force, where she met her husband while stationed in Shreveport, La.
She married James Glynn Bonner on May 12, 1979, to whom she was married for 29 years. She also lived in New Orleans, Nottingham, England, Raymond, and Brookhaven before settling in Natchez. She had one son, Joel Glynn Bonner, born Dec. 25, 1984, in Nottingham, England.
In her later years, she enjoyed motorcycle riding and collecting antiques.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Eual and Anita Melton, of Deming, N.M.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Hannah Bonner; sisters, Deniece Melton May and Pam Frie; a nephew, Tad May; two nieces, Jody May and Tya May Long; and her ex-husband.
There will be no public memorial; donations in her name may be made to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League in Jackson.
