WEST LINCOLN — Fatheads officially closed last week but a new business is moving into the space.
A new restaurant plans to open across the street from West Lincoln Attendance Center. Mississippi Department of Health granted a new construction permit for the business according to health inspection records.
The restaurant will open at 990 West Lincoln Drive Southwest which was where Fatheads LLC was located. MSDH reports the new construction permit was granted on June 4, 2024. According to the health inspection, the restaurant’s name will be Grizzly Diner. A nod to the West Lincoln Bears.
Fatheads Owners Ashley and Jeremy Jackson announced plans to close the restaurant in May. Jeremy’s nickname is Fathead and was the inspiration for the name. They love to cook and plan to open a food truck again.
“We have been so blessed with the amazing support from this community in West Lincoln,” the owners wrote in May. “Our time here is coming to an end…We are only selling because we just can’t keep up with demand. With small children we never know what each day holds and with a restaurant you have to be open consistently and we just can’t do that right now. So unfortunately we must let her go.”
Health Inspections for two other establishments went well. MSDH reports Bumpers, located at 101 US51 North, earned an “A” rating for the third straight time. Holiday Inn Express earned an “A” rating for the seventh straight time at 1212 Brookway Boulevard.
