BROOKHAVEN — National Weather Service warns of severe weather for Lincoln County and southwest Mississippi Monday afternoon. Storms could bring wind and hail. 

NWS warns the storms could move through the area between 2 p.m. and midnight. Areas west of I-55 are at a greater risk of severe weather. 

Wind damage and hail up to a quarter in size is forecast with these storms. Brookhaven has a 60 percent chance of rain this afternoon mostly after 4 p.m. according to the NWS. Tuesday has a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. 

A chance of rain is in the forecast on Wednesday and Thursday with 40 percent and 20 percent chances of rain on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
