Potential names for tropical storms

The 2024 Atlantic Tropical Cyclone Names were released Thursday. According to the North American Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, storms have been named since 1953 by the National Hurricane Center. Names are now maintained and updated through strict procedure by an international committee of the World Meteorological Organization.
Lists of storm names are used in a six year rotation. The only times storm names are updated in the list is if the storm is so deadly or costly it needs to be replaced. In 2020, the hurricane season was so active the NOAA went to the greek alphabet to finish out the season’s named storms.
