In the half-hour commencement program in West Lincoln’s gym Friday night, the 30-plus graduating seniors smiled, laughed and stood proud as they bid goodbye to their alma mater.
Salutatorian Gabby Evans said, “I’m going to miss the teachers and the people who made it easier.”
Valedictorian Carson Temple — graduating with a 100.08 grade point average — offered thanks to “our parents who’ve shown love and support over the years.”
“To the class of 2024, you have brought me memories for a lifetime,” Temple said. “Tonight is our last night as West Lincoln Bears [so] I would like to leave everyone with a verse … to remind us we’re in God’s hands: ‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,’ Jeremiah 29:11.”
