Meta’s Facebook, Messenger, Threads, and Instagram platforms are down worldwide.

Hundreds of thousands of users are unable to access the social media platforms Tuesday, with issues appearing at approximately 9:20 a.m. CST. Outages are affecting both the websites and apps.

DownDetector, an online outage monitor, shows more than 352,000 Americans reporting problems with Facebook, and more than 53,000 reports of Instagram outages.

Online advisors suggest users do not attempt to change passwords, because it is a Meta service disruption. No statement had been given by Meta representatives as of 9:53 a.m. CST.
