BROOKHAVEN — Region 8 Mental Health Commission recently conducted its 2023 Annual Awards Ceremony, honoring employees for outstanding performance, professionalism and tenure. 

Adam Milner was presented the Melvin Ray Commissioners’ Award of Excellence. The award is given to an administrative employee that exemplifies through their actions a model of leadership and who has made significant contributions through their giving spirit to the Region 8 Commission, its employees, and citizens served by the agency. Ray, who died in 2021, was Region 8 Madison County Commissioner.

The Power of 8 awards are presented to a select few for their unwavering commitment to outstanding performance. These employees exhibit strong character, leadership and integrity. This year’s winner was Justin Hutchinson. 

Quianti Merchant was awarded Employee of the Year, and Stella Stanberry was awarded Brookhaven Crisis Center Employee of the Year.
