BROOKHAVEN — You have seven days to go by the Lincoln-Lawrence-Franklin County Library to visit the traveling Smithsonian Exhibit if you have not done so already. The exhibit Crossroads: Changes in Rural America tells the story of change in time to rural communities and small towns like Brookhaven.
Joe Brown with the Lincoln County Historical Society will speak about the “History of Forestry in Lincoln County,” at 4p.m. this afternoon. It is one of a few Community Discussions the Library has held over the past few weeks.
The exhibit and community discussion programs are free.

Brookhaven will soon deck the halls and Railroad Park for the Christmas Season. Black Friday will be the official lighting of a giant Christmas Tree in downtown Brookhaven. Check back on our website for updates as the tree is put together and decorated ahead of the Christmas Tree Lighting. The lighting will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The tree will be ready to shine nearly a week before the Christmas Parade in Brookhaven on November 30. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. and if you want to register for the parade call the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce at 601-833-1411 or visit the chamber website.
