BROOKHAVEN — Mississippi v. Case enters day two of trial today at the Lincoln County Courthouse with court entering session at 9a.m. . Judge David Strong said he expects the trial to last to at least Thursday but it shouldn’t take more than a few days.

Strong said the longest trial he has ever presided over was the Willie Cory Godbolt case in 2020.

D’Monterrio Gibson is expected to appear in court tomorrow and testify about the day. His attorney Carlos Moore held a pre-trial press conference Tuesday. Opening arguments were heard Tuesday afternoon after jury selection

District Attorney Dee Bates said he has a list of witnesses including four witnesses related to FedEx, five “other” witnesses, four witnesses from law enforcement and six former officers or dispatchers. It is unknown who will take the witness stand and when.
