BROOKHAVEN — Mississippi Department of Health reported Huey Magoos passed a health inspection Friday afternoon. The inspection means the chicken restaurant is one step closer to opening. Sullivan’s Grocery passed a health inspection on the same day.

Huey Magoos is closer to opening with the A rating they received in the health inspection Friday. Owner Kristi Powell Orr shared the company was accepting applications for jobs and will start interviews soon in a Facebook post.

Sullivan’s Grocery earned an A rating from the health department. It is the seventh A rating the grocery store has received since 2019.

Mississippi Ice, a frozen daiquiri shop coming to Brookhaven, has not received its liquor license from the Mississippi Alcoholic Beverage Control according to an active permit data base. The shop was issued a permit from the Mississippi Department of Health last week.
