WESSON — Clear Branch Baptist Church, located at 2166 Clear Branch Lane in Wesson, will host a Hunters Education Class on August 12. Mississippi requires all hunters to have a hunter education certification if they were born after January 1, 1972. Online students must be on-site by 12:30 p.m and lunch will be provided at the church. 

Children who are 12 and older can take the course online at Clear Branch but children 10 and 11 years of age must take the course in a classroom setting at the church. Hunters Education is designed to reduce hunting and tree stand accidents while teaching kids about firearm safety, hunter ethics and responsibility and wildlife conservation. 

The course at Clear Branch is sponsored by Ducks Unlimited. As of July 11, 87 out of 100 seats are still available. Students can sign up on the MDWFP website.
