BROOKHAVEN — Rain tried to put a damper on the 4th of July festivities but thankfully cleared out in time for the Lincoln County Civic Center to light up the night sky. The firework show was put on thanks to Mississippi legislators Becky Currie, Vince Mangold and Jason Barrett.

Over 500 bursts popped over the onlooking crowd of people at the Civic Center. Brookhaven Police Department and Fire Department aided in traffic control following the event.

Happy 4th of July and may freedom ring.
