BROOKHAVEN — Garbage pickup complaints were heard by the Lincoln County Board of Supervisors Monday morning. Jason Rippy made public comments on the issue during a regularly scheduled board meeting.

He owns two rental properties on Harrison Lane where garbage had not been collected in the last three weeks. Rippy said he called the courthouse and called the call-center for ADSI to no avail.

“It is a widespread problem. I need to do something with the garbage. Something has to be done,” Rippy said. “The tenants are on me and I don’t blame them. Maybe we could have dumpsters so people could get rid of their garbage.”

District 4 supervisor Eddie Brown told Rippy to call the courthouse everytime it doesn’t get picked up and they will handle it. ADSI is working through a lot of turnover lately which has caused issues in the county. Brookhaven has caught up with trash pickup.

District 3 supervisor Nolan Williamson said ADSI had a crew walk-off the job last week and went from 13 workers to three.

Brookhaven residents’ trash will not run July 4th due to the holiday. The City of Brookhaven announced Tuesday’s pickup will be on Wednesday, Wednesday’s pickup will be Thursday, Thursday’s pickup is on Friday and Friday’s pickup will be Saturday.
