John “Mark” Hamilton passed on May 31, 2023 at 6:15 in the morning at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Mark was born to John Thomas and Frances Jane Hamilton on August 13, 1959. He grew up in Wesson, Mississippi and was a proud graduate of Wesson High School and Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He then went on to achieve multiple degrees in music, education, and theology.
Throughout his life he took on many roles, but in his final years he served as a music minister at Tangipahoa Baptist Church and a teacher at Provine High School.
Out of all the things Mark loved, his loved ones were the most important thing to him. He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Hamilton; his mother, Frances Jane Hamilton; his brother, Daryl Hamilton; and his brother-in-law, Dennis Berry.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hamilton; his daughter, Cherish Frost; his son, John Adam Hamilton and wife Rebecca; his son, Joshua Mark Hamilton; his daughter, Laci Jane Pfenninger and husband Darek; and his grandchildren: Cameron Frost, Kelly Grace Frost, and Addison Blair Hamilton.
He was also survived by his sister, Dawn Berry; his nephew, Greg Ryan and wife Ashley; his niece, Brooke Swaney and husband Trey; and four great-nieces and nephews.
Mark will be best remembered by the way he loved each and every one of these individuals among an abundance of extended family and friends that couldn’t be contained to one list.
Visitation will be held at Wesson Baptist Church on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Wesson Cemetery at 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to The American Cancer Society in Mark Hamilton’s honor.
