Truck stops to seafood, nine Lincoln County establishments pass inspections

BOGUE CHITTO — Mississippi Department of Health has been busy again this week with restaurant inspections. Agents traveled to Bogue Chitto, West Lincoln, Wesson and Brookhaven to grade nine different establishments.
Jenny Lou’s received its third straight A on Thursday. The establishment is located at 68 Bogue Chitto Road close to the Bogue Chitto Truck Stop at 63 Bogue Chitto Road Southeast.
Bogue Chitto Truck Stop received a B rating for the first time since 2012. They have had A’s in the last eight inspections. Bogue Chitto Truck Stop’s B was a result of not having adequate hand washing facilities supplied and available and not having their last inspection posted. The violations were corrected on the spot.
Several miles down the road, West Lincoln High School received its 16th straight A rating since 2013 according to MSDH records. Back in Brookhaven, K&B catering received its eighth straight A.
Dude’s Hot Biscuits, located at 1248 US51 North, received its 10th straight A rating. Betty’s Eat Shop, at 126 South Whitworth in Downtown Brookhaven, earned its 10th straight A Wednesday.
Little Tokyo Steakhouse and Hibachi, at 910 Brookway Boulevard, received an A for the 15th straight time.
The Shack at 550, now called Melba’s Place, located at 933 MS-550 received a B this week. MSDH reports Melba’s Place was not in compliance with proper date marking and proper disposition regulations. The violation was corrected on site.
Bud’s Snow Station, which has a Wesson address at 3074 MS-550 NW, received an A rating Wednesday. Bud’s has earned three straight A’s since 2021.
