Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office investigators are tracking down leads after a series of Sunday night car burglaries.

Sheriff Steve Rushing said at least six vehicles were burglarized, with items taken from two.

“We’re still getting a couple of reports. Several vehicles were gone through during the night on the Heucks Retreat Road, Callender Road, Beeson Drive and Furrs Mill Drive areas,” Rushing said.

Investigators are running down some possible leads and have some video footage from homeowners’ cameras.

Any resident in the affected area with cameras is asked to check their footage from around midnight Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday morning, Rushing said, and report anything suspicious or unusual to the Sheriff’s Office at 601-833-5231.

“The investigation is still preliminary. We’re still checking areas,” Rushing said.
