Funeral services for Rosemary Stegall Hatchell will be on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the Beauregard Cemetery in Wesson, MS. Bro. Jeremy Case will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 10 a.m.  until 11 a.m.

Mrs. Hatchell, 88, of Wesson, MS, passed from this life on March, 22, 2023, at Summerfield Assisted Living in Hammond, LA.  She was born on December 26, 1934, in Hazlehurst, MS, to James Albert Stegall and Mary Pauline Martin Stegall. She was a member of Wesson Baptist Church in Wesson, MS where she sang in the church choir and in two community choirs. She was a member of LaBusy Bees cooking group in LaPlace. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, trying new recipes, gardening and putting up vegetables. She earned her nickname “RoRo” at First Baptist Church Wee Care Center in LaPlace, LA where she took care of her bed babies for twenty years.  She was an avid LSU and New Orleans Saints football fan. She was a loving person to all that she met.

Preceding her in death were her parents Albert and Pauline Stegall; her husband of 60 years Denver Hatchell; and son Mark Hatchell.

Survivors are her son Dennis Hatchell; daughter Mary Lou Chauvin (Jeff); daughter-in-law Susan Hatchell; brother Harold Stegall (Carol Ann); 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
