School district announces closures as storms bear down on region

MONTICELLO — A spokesperson with the Lawerence County School District announced Lawerence County Schools are closing all school campuses and offices Thursday. After school activities are also canceled.
“Please stay safe and weather aware,” Kelsey Lambert said. “Normal operations are expected to resume Friday, February 17.”
Lincoln County School District, Brookhaven School District and Brookhaven Academy have not announced any plans to close at this time.
