“But now I go away to Him Who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.” — John 16:5-7 (NKJV)

 

You may have never heard this particular teaching about God because it is assumed by most Preachers and Teachers that everyone already knows. In fact, it should be said that none of us can fully grasp the complexity of our God and His ways; we are finite beings, limited in wisdom. God is infinite, possessing all wisdom and knowledge.

“In the beginning God…”— in this context, God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit were present (Read Genesis 1:1-3 and John 1:1). We believe in and serve a Triune God, made up of three persons, God The Father, God The Son, God The Holy Spirit. They are three separate, yet inseparable entities. Meaning that they are always of one accord, always after the singular will of God, always working together, never at odds, never contradicting, never not present. They work as One to achieve their desire.

For the first few thousand years of the existence of Humanity, God the Father was the Primary presence with mankind.

At just the right time, God The Son was born into this world in the bodily form of Jesus, Son of Mary. He came to re-establish God’s claim to mankind and all of creation, and to provide for us a means of salvation through the forgiveness of our sins made possible through Jesus’ death on the Cross. God The Son’s “time” here on earth was a brief 33 years, and in some of Jesus’ last words He tells us to wait for the Promise of The Father (Luke 24:49).

Acts 2, enter God The Holy Spirit. Whose purpose is to point us to God the Son, Who points us to God The Father, Who sent us The Holy Spirit. On the Day of Pentecost, after Jesus ascended, the time of the ministry of God The Holy Spirit began. He is God in the form that He has chosen to reveal Himself to us in these last days. Praise God.
