King’s Daughters Medical Center has received a $100,000 donation from the KDMC Foundation to help purchase a 3D mammogram machine in the hospital’s imaging department.
The KDMC Foundation is the fundraising arm of KDMC. Its sole purpose is to raise funds for special projects or equipment purchases throughout the hospital and clinical system. Over the past six years, the Foundation has gifted KDMC approximately $1,000,000 dollars to help fund crucial needs. This was all made possible through generous donations from individuals, employers and even KDMC’s own employee base.
KDMC Foundation Director Jeff Richardson said, “With the financial battles all hospitals have endured over the past couple of years, it is even more crucial for our foundation to step up and assist. We are so excited to help provide our community with this state -of-the-art equipment.”
“We are so excited to receive this donation that provides our staff with the latest and greatest equipment that will help our patients,” said Wanda Biokua, KDMC Radiology Director.
The check was presented at the Foundation’s annual Think Pink luncheon that honors breast cancer survivors and promotes early detection and awareness.
